WASV has some exciting news to share with all of our animal loving supporters and friends! At our inception and until recently we focused the majority of our energy and efforts towards assisting the animals of our local Woodbridge Animal Shelter. While WAS will always remain near and dear to our hearts, as we have grown and evolved as a nonprofit organization, we have made the decision to expand our scope of services and to broaden the animal community members that we are able to assist.
Our new mission will allow us to Paw it Forward to any area animal rescue or shelter organization that may be in need of our help. You will notice that with our new vision for expanding the population we serve, comes our new name… Woodbridge Animal Society Volunteers! We are the same volunteers with the same dedication and the same belief that all homeless animals deserve a second chance. As you can imagine this transition will be a process but we hope you are willing to join us on our new journey!
All of our social media venues will be revised to incorporate our new name and our new philosophy and we will be developing a mechanism for submission of requests for assistance with any animal related issue. Moving forward we will be happy to share animals in need, highlight shelter or rescue programs that need exposure, promote animal related events, assist with transports, contribute to veterinary bills, help with direct animal care, provide fostering on a limited basis, etc.
Please be advised that as a result of our transformation, we will be postponing our 7th Annual Walk a thon until the latter part of the summer so that we are prepared to host it as our new Society… stay tuned for details! As we embark on this exciting new venture it means the world to us to have your support and we look forward to continuing to share our passion for animals with you all!
